Initial investigation on wide spectrum short pulse generation of high power microwave

摘要: 为了探索短电脉冲产生高功率微波技术,采用理论和粒子模拟方法分析了短电脉冲(脉宽不大于30 ns)驱动S波段相对论扩展互作用腔振荡器(REICO)产生高功率宽谱的技术可行性,开展了原理性的实验验证。采用Marx发生器产生的前沿15 ns、后沿30 ns、电压560 kV、束流2.8 kA的类三角形电子束脉冲激励REICO,模拟产生了410 MW、脉宽8 ns、相对瞬时带宽2.7%的微波,实验输出了160 MW、脉宽10 ns、中心频率2.75 GHz、瞬时相对带宽2.8%的高功率微波。

Abstract: In order to explore the technology of high power microwave(HPM) generation by ultra short electrical pulse supply, the technical feasibility of generating wide spectrum HPM was analyzed by an S band relativistic extended interaction cavity oscillator(REICO) driven by ultra short electrical pulse using the theory and particle simulation method. A principle experiment using the Marx generator to generate triangle narrow electrical pulse driving the S band REICO was carried out. The rising time of 15 ns, along 30 ns, voltage 560 kV, current 2.8 kA triangle electron beam pulse produced by the Marx generator drove the REICO, and it produced short pulse high power microwave with a power of 410 MW, a pulse width of 8 ns, and a relative instantaneous bandwidth of 2.7% in simulation. Correspondingly, it generated the output microwave power of 160 MW, pulse width 10 ns, center frequency of 2.75 GHz, the relative bandwidth of 2.8% in the experiment.
