Abstract: A novel high energy laser beam detector for measuring energy distribution was described in this paper. The detector consists of separating board, heat measurer array and heat container, and characterized by its capability of undertaking much energy density, large detecting area and little error of energy measurement. The calibration procedure and some testing results are also included in this paper. The detector provides a new means to measure energy distribution of high energy laser beam.
