Abstract: Self-consistent equations for the beam-wave interaction in the electron guiding center coordinate are derived. Two new conclusions are drawn by theoretical analysis: the axial bunching and azimuthal bunching can be reinforced in some cases; the effect of the force bunching may surpass the inertial bunching and generate a small gain dip in the small signal region. Theoretical analysis is verified by numerical simulation.
