相对论返波管慢波结构的起始端设计

摘要: 对相对论返波管的慢波结构中横磁模-TM01模的空间谐波系数进行了理论计算。理论上证明采用所述的4种方法构造的有限长度的慢波结构谐振腔,其一些电动力学特性可以等效为无限长结构的特性。根据慢波结构内场分布的特点和计算机数值模拟结果,提出为了提高相对论返波管的转换效率,一般选择慢波结构的起始端从波纹最深处开始。Abstract: Spatial harmonic coefficients are theoretically calculated for transverse magnetic TM01 mode in slow wave structure (SWS) of relativistic backward-wave oscillators(RBWO). It is proved that there are four means to construct resonant SWS cavities whose electromagnetic properties are the same as those of infinite SWS cavities. According to the field distribution in SWS and computer simulation results, it is suggested that the SWS generally begin with the deepest location of corrugation in order to increase the conversion efficiency.
