A time and spaceresolved flatgrating spectrometer is developed. It is composed of a varied linespace grating with 2 400 lp/mm or 1 200 lp/mm, a gated MCP framing camera and an optical CCD system. The principle, the construction and adjustment method of the spectrometer are presented. With this spectrometer the timeresolved emission spectrum of Al plasma are measured in “Xingguang” laser facility and the time and spaceresolved absorption spectrum of Al plasma is observed in “Shenguang” laser facility respectively. The spectrum resolution is about 0.02~0.05nm.
